Genetics

  • Fingerprints are unique patterns of ridges and valleys on the skin of our fingertips. Your fingerprints are formed during fetal development and stay the same throughout your whole life! No two person’s fingerprints are ever the same – not even identical twins! That is why fingerprints are often used in forensics to analyze crime scenes!

All About Blood

  • Blood types are based on special markers, called antigens, found on the surface of our red blood cells. There are four main blood types: A, B, AB, and O.

  • Blood flows through your body in two main types of blood vessels: arteries and veins. Arteries carry blood away from your heart, and the blood is usually full of oxygen to give your body energy. Veins bring the blood back to your heart after it has delivered oxygen to your body.

  • Your body makes blood with special ingredients: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. Each of these ingredients has a certain role in the body.
